Wool, cashmere and alpaca – fibres with character
Fine wool provides structure, durability and reliable warmth: its crimped fibres hold air between them, and that trapped air is what insulates. At the same time wool absorbs moisture without feeling damp and stays breathable. Cashmere, taken from the undercoat of the cashmere goat, is far finer than sheep's wool and makes a fabric exceptionally soft and light. Alpaca feels silky, insulates very well thanks to its partly hollow fibre and stays feather-light. Whether with a share of cashmere or as a wool-alpaca blend, each version has its own appeal.
Which cut suits you?
A long wool coat lengthens the silhouette and carries formal occasions as confidently as the working week. A shorter cut looks more relaxed and leaves more freedom of movement day to day.
