Tibetan lambskin: long curls, light leather

The original Tibetan hides are sorted by hand and expertly cut to shape. Their particularly soft, curly wool with its natural sheen invites you to touch it, while the light leather keeps the hides pleasantly flexible. Because the crimped hairs trap a great deal of air, sheepskin regulates temperature: it insulates against the cold and absorbs moisture instead of letting it build up. Is sheepskin washable?

The honest answer: not every hide is. Ecologically tanned hides in particular must not go in the washing machine – with them, shaking them out regularly, vacuuming gently and airing them is all it takes to keep the wool looking good.
