Mules with sheepskin – open elegance for the home

Sheepskin mules for women bring together two qualities that rarely meet: the lightness of an open-back slipper and the warmth of real sheepskin. Open-back mule or closed slipper?

The mule is the most straightforward slipper of all: no bending down, nothing pressing at the heel, simply glide in. Because the heel stays free, less warmth builds up – which makes the open shape interesting for well-heated flats and for the milder months, when closed slippers quickly become too warm. The closed slipper plays to its strengths on frosty days and on cool floors, because it wraps the heel as well. If you move between rooms a lot, the mule is usually the easier choice.

Why the fleece makes the difference

The soft fleece wraps around toes and ball of the foot and works in two directions at once: the crimped fibre traps air and stores warmth, while it also absorbs moisture and releases it outwards. The climate around the foot therefore stays dry rather than clammy, and the mule remains comfortable for far longer than an hour.
