Men's Sheepskin Jackets

A men's sheepskin jacket combines the warmth of real sheepskin with the freedom of movement of a short jacket: dense fleece inside, leather outside, long enough to keep out wind and cold and short enough for the car and the bike. If you are looking specifically for shearling, you will find a dedicated selection in our men's shearling jackets.

Depending on the model, the warmth comes from naturally grown merino sheepskin or finely crimped curly sheepskin, with lamb nappa, lambskin or suede on the outside. Black and shades of brown dominate the colours, some with light fleece as a contrast.

Sheepskin jackets for men: short, warm, with leather outside

The sheepskin jacket sits between the long sheepskin coat and the light leather jacket. It warms your upper body with fleece, leaves your legs free and therefore suits everyday life, the city and travel. The fleece retains body heat, while the leather shields you from the wind. At Hollert German Leather, each of these jackets is a premium natural product whose fleece shows a slightly individual texture.

Merino or curly: which fleece suits you?

Merino sheepskin has dense, even wool with a fine crimp. Air stays trapped in it and holds your body heat, while moisture can escape to the outside. The result: warm on frosty days, without overheating on the train or in a shop. Curly sheepskin shows its curls openly, looks more rustic and goes well with matt brushed suede or leather with an antique look. Which type of fleece you choose is mainly a question of look and feel; both help to balance temperature.

Bomber cut, aviator style or hood

The men's sheepskin bomber jacket sits short and sporty, depending on the model with a half belt, turn-back cuffs and a fleece collar that can be fastened high with leather straps. Jackets in aviator style close at the hem and cuffs with an elastic band that keeps out the wind, and padded sleeves give freedom of movement. Hooded styles with a drawstring are the urban option. Pay attention to the fit when you buy: close-fitting cuts are slim, so if you like to wear a thick jumper underneath, go one size up if in doubt. Care and the step up to a coat

Sheepskin needs little effort: after wearing, hang the jacket on a wide hanger, brush the fleece now and then and let wet leather dry at room temperature, not on the radiator. How to keep fleece and leather clean is explained in our guide cleaning and caring for sheepskin. If you want more length and protection for your hips and thighs, you will find the right cut among our men's sheepskin coats. More jackets and coats, including styles in leather and wool, are shown on our men's coats and jackets page.
